Maintenance Technician 2
Reports to: Tech Team lead
Education: High school diploma preferred or equivalent experience
Preferred Experience: Two years higher education or five years of experience in mechanical and electrical repair of industrial machines
Troubleshoot and perform advanced repairs to equipment of electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic controls. Perform preventative maintenance on machines to ensure maximum operational availability. Participate in machine moves and perform upgrades. Ensure safety at all times.
The optimal candidate will be MULTICRAFTED and must possess basic mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic skills. Must possess working knowledge in automation and process control systems (DCS, Allen Bradlely PLC, Supervisory Control & Data Acquisition(SCADA), Ethernet Network, Process experience, Tockwell PLC and AutoCAD working experience is required. Must be proficient in the understanding of preventative maintenance processes. Troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic problems and take initiative to correct or seek immediate assistance. Assemble and disassemble equipment. Read and follow equipment manufacturer's specifications, circuits, etc. Focus on supporting the preventative maintenance process including lubrication and inspection, general maintenance tasks, such as but not necessarily limited to assembly and dis-assembly of components, problem troubleshooting and correction. Support all production and physical plant equipment in the facility. Minimum of two (2) years vocational-tech training or certification in industrial electrical, electronics, and controls preferred. Electro-mechanical skills, LabView and computer controls with ability to program, ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical and mechanical and fluid power breakdowns on manufacturing and facility equipment. Basic computer experience (PC based) data collection methods and Microsoft Windows operating environment. Read, interpret, understand, and find (if necessary) written or electronic information, including information from diagrams, schematics, blueprints, graphs, and charts, and input information as needed into a computer. Prepare equipment and materials as needed and effectively operate the equipment including the following:
- Measuring instruments (micrometers, tape measures, dial calipers)
- Precision machines (drill press, mill, and bench lathes)
- Hand tools (drills, wrenches, grinders)
- Material handling equipment (forklifts, cranes, overhead hoists
- Safety Glasses
- Steel-toed shoes
- Hearing protection
- Occasionally wear a respirator
- Lift up to 50 lbs.
- Climb and work from ladders, platforms and machinery
- Full range of body motion, i.e. lifting, kneeling, squatting and twisting
- Multi-Craft Maintenance Tech: 4 years
- Maintenance experience in high volume manufacturing: 4 years
- Troubleshooting and repairing production equipment: 4 years
- Hands on factory automation (PLC, HMIs, etc.): 3 years
